Cabarete, a vibrant coastal town in the Dominican Republic, recently played host to the 15th Cabarete Butterfly Effect presented by RealtorDR. This highly anticipated event, spanning four days from July 5th to 8th, brought together women from all over the world for the largest women's water sport gathering in the Caribbean. Organized by Audrey Meyer and Michelle Bourdeau, the Butterfly Effect celebrated women, the ocean, women's leadership, and community engagement.
This year's event was particularly special as it marked the transition of the Cabarete Butterfly Effect into a non-profit association.

Aerial Petal Shower: The Highlight of the Event
One of the most unforgettable moments of the 15th Cabarete Butterfly Effect was the surprise organized by Audrey Meyer and Michelle Bourdeau. As women gathered on the beach to celebrate, a helicopter soared above, showering the crowd with a beautiful cascade of flower petals. The sight was truly mesmerizing, symbolizing the beauty, strength, and unity of the women participating in the event. This surprise added a magical touch to an already remarkable experience.
Day 1: Wednesday, July 5 - Registration and Welcoming Atmosphere
The event kicked off with the registration at the El Kaoba Hotel from 6 pm to 8 pm. Participants were greeted with a warm welcome, receiving their goodie boag setting the tone for an exciting four days ahead.
Day 2: Thursday, July 6 - Self-Care and Sailing Adventure on the Tip Top Catamaran
The morning started with a skin care workshop hosted by Germaine de Capuccini and Andari Spa. This workshop provided valuable insights into pre and post-solar skin care, ensuring participants could enjoy their time in the sun responsibly. In the afternoon, attendees embarked on a thrilling Tip Top Catamaran excursion, sailing into the sunset and experiencing the beauty of the Caribbean waters.
Day 3: Friday, July 7 - Beach Cleanup, Yoga, Surf and Women in Leadership Talk
The day began with a beach cleanup, promoting environmental stewardship and a sense of community among the participants. Following the cleanup, yoga sessions and surf lessons were offered by the Pauhana Surf School, allowing women to connect with their bodies and the ocean at the famous Playa Encuentro. In the evening, the Women in Leadership Talk took place at Bahia Bazaar. This inspirational event showcased remarkable women, fostering empowerment, leadership, and community engagement.
Day 4: Saturday, July 8 - Full Day of Excitement
The day started with late registration and check-in, accompanied by coffee and light snacks at Millennium Hotel. A yoga and group meditation session followed, promoting mindfulness and a positive mindset. Later, participants took part in a paddle SUP down the river, from Rugama to La Boca suitable for all skill levels and even allowing girls under 10 to participate with proper supervision. The event also featured a kite, wingfoil, and windsurf expression session in front of the Millennium Resort, showcasing the women' skills and passion for water sports. The day concluded with a celebration and party at the Millennium Pool, providing a vibrant atmosphere for the attendees to connect and enjoy the moment.
